Create a simple Coaching Program

Learn how to create a simple Coaching Program for one participant, add a Learner Plan, and setup the number and type of coaching sessions.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Coaching programs are fully automated in Able. After the initial setup your coachee will get automated reminders to schedule sessions in your calendar. 180ΒΊ or 360ΒΊ leadership profiles and post-program evaluations will also be automatically sent, and if you add a paid Learner Plan to the program, your coachee will have regular AI-generated nudges and message-based coaching to support their behaviour change. Leaving you to focus fully on the coaching process itself and growing your clients rather than managing project admin.

What you will learn in this guide

This guide will walk you through the process of creating a simple coaching program for one person (a program "participant" or "coachee") using Able. By following these steps you will be able to set up and manage a coaching program effectively.

The whole process has just five steps and should take less than 3 minutes.

  1. Access the Participants section and add a New Participant

  2. Fill in your coachee's information.

  3. Choose a Learner Plan for the coachee.

  4. Select the type of coaching sessions.

  5. Configure the program settings.

After this workflow is completed the program will launch on the date you set, and you and your coachee will have a seamless coaching experience supported by Able.

Step 1: Go to the Participants Section

Begin by navigating to the 'Participants' section in Able. This is where you will manage your coachees and their respective programs.

Access the Participants section from the dashboard.

Step 2: Add a New Participant

Click on the 'New Participant' button in the top right of the browser to start adding a new coachee. Fill in the required information such as the customer company, project name, the participant's name, and email address.

  1. Customer Company: select an existing Company or "Add New Company". If your coachee isn't doing this through their employer you may just want to make the Customer Company their full name.

  2. Project Name: select an existing Project or "Add New Project".

  3. New Job Number: this is an auto-created unique identification number.

  4. Participant: complete your coachee's details and click the "Next" button in the bottom right.

Fill in the new participant's information.

Step 3: Choose a Learner Subscription Plan

Select a Learner plan that best fits the needs of your coachee. Able has four Learner Plans, these include: Free, Embedding, AI Coaching, and Analytics Pro. Each plan offers different features and benefits. Once the program is launched your participant will be invited to Able to create an account and access their Learner Plan.

Choose a suitable subscription plan.

Step 4: Select Coaching Structure

On the "Coaching" tab select the session structure and number of sessions for your coaching program.

Select the "Coaching Type", if any, you wish to allocate. Options include five online and four face-to-face formats, each with different durations and sequence types. This setting ensures each session in your program is booked in for the right delivery format and duration in the correct sequence. For example you may want 90mins for the first coaching session to de-brief a diagnostic and then all further sessions will be short 45mins sessions.

Step 5: Configure Program Settings

Set the dates you want to launch the program and depending on the Learner Plan you selected for your coachee you can enable/disable the digital learning features to enhance the coaching experience.

  1. On-Boarding Date: this is the date your coaching program launches and your coachee will be sent a Welcome email outlining your program details.

  2. Meet Coach Date: this is the date your coachee will be sent a Meet Your Coach email. This email includes your short bio, a link to your online bio and a link to your calendar to book the first session.

  3. AI-generated Nudges: if enabled your coachee will receive weekly AI-generated nudges via email from Able. They can reply to these and get instant response from the AI-Coach aligned to their development plan, goals and leadership profile results.

  4. AI-generated Coaching: if enabled your coachee can chat to the AI-coach via email or in Able, anytime, from anywhere and get instant responses aligned to their development plan, goals and leadership profile results.
